I bought this as a stand-alone phone based on the description of this being “expandable.” This is a handset to add to an existing system, this is not a base station or stand alone set.

Great addition to a good system.
Already had the two-phone system: base with one extension. Great sound and far reaching signal. Battery life is very good.

The answering machine feature works flawlessly. However the handsets will cut off after 7 to 15 minutes even when they are fully charged. I just hung up with Panasonic Tech Support and decided to write this review.

If anyone else has the same problem with these handsets Panasonic will tell you to:
    1) unplug the power supply from the base unit.
    2) walk around your house and gather all the handsets. Fun.
    3) Remove the batteries from all handsets, wait for one full minute and replace the batteries.
    4) Plug in the power supply for the base unit and verify each handset is charging.

Now if anyone else has the same problem, you can complete this first step before you try to deal with Panasonic Tech Support on the telephone which is itself a true test of one’s patience.

I got this to replace a Vtech phone that I’d had for 5 years. The Vtech was fine till I had to place it in my computer room to use the speaker phone and suddenly the range for both the wireless and the phones themselves dropped dramatically and the phone had a lot of noise. These phones (I’m using 5 through the answering machine base) have much better range, don’t interfere with the wireless, use standard NiMH AAA batteries. The base is right next to the microwave and it has no problems since the phones use the DECT frequency. I don’t know if the talk time as as long as they promised but it’s certainly longer than the 1-2 hrs. from the Vtech. The phones have large buttons that are easy to use (unlike the Vtech), a nice uncluttered screen, easy to program and easy to use functions. Consumer Reports rated it a best buy and after using it for a while I completely agree.

Boy was I excited to get the new wireless speakers. Sounded great, solved the problem of using the computer to be the”radio”. …for about 4 hours then a little speaker rattle.

    Easy add on
Upon purchasing a Panasonic dect 6.0 KX-TG1033S we realized we needed another phone for the garage. The phone was really easy to get it added to our current system.

    Great System!
It’s a great system, you don’t have to be at the answering machine as the caller’s message is broadcast over the satellite phones. I have 5 phones on my system throughout my home.

    Panasonic DECT Phone
Great phone - only problem with it is that the keyboard does not light up.

Nice secure phones without a curly tangled up cord.
Phones and I usually don’t get along well. They fall off the wall, the cord pulls the coffee pot off the counter top.

    Best, least expensive.
This is the best and the least expensive cordless phone set I have ever owned. One handset and an answering machine cost about the same as one handset of my old Panasonic setup…
