Customer Review: Totally Satisfied
When I was initially looking at this phone, about a year ago, I read the reviews listed here and, needless to say, had some concern. However, I went ahead with the purchase anyway and am glad I did. Since my purchase was about a year after the others here who experienced problems, I am presuming that AT&T had time to clear the problems. Both the base unit and the cordless have worked very well and I have had no problems. All aspects of my use have provided excellent service, clarity of conversation, range of the cordless unit, and especially ability to have someone on both the base and cordless at the same time. So far, so good.
Customer Review: Unusable
I’m sorry, if I buy a phone for its Caller ID feature, I need to have Caller ID that works. The third second that the phone starts ringing, the display shows the person calling for a fraction of a second, and then it just says ** RINGING **. I KNOW that it’s ringing, that’s why I’m looking at the Caller ID screen. I can’t imagine what theory was in practice when they designed this. There are a few other things in the manual that I can’t seem to get to work, such as the ability to get the cordless phone to beep so you can find it. Also you’re supposed to be able to get the cordless phone to have a special ring for certain numbers, but it’s very hard to figure out how to do it. And I don’t understand the instructions about how to change the display contrast. Nothing seems to happen. This is the second AT&T phone I have with weirdness. The other one uses batteries for its Caller ID, and you have to be Hercules with a screwdriver to pry off the cover where the batteries are stored. Very disappointed.
