 AT&T 2322/2-2300 2.4 GHz DSS Cordless Phone with Caller ID and Call Waiting Customer Review: Not a good investment
At $149.00 retail the phone worked well in the beginning but as time goes on the features and buttons begin to not work. I can’t use the directory or caller ID’s functions. The scroll up/down keys do not work. I bought another handset at $60.00, this gave me one working phone. It’s a wasted investment of $209 because the handset does not work without the main phone being connected. By the time it stops working the waranty is out of date. When you pay for shipping and repairs you can buy another phone. It’s definitey not a good investment.

I have owned this phone system for 2 years, and I’m currently shopping for another to replace it. For the money, it should’ve lasted me much longer. The problem is with the buttons. They simply don’t work. For the last year, we have been able to take calls, but many of the buttons don’t work so we have to grab the cell phones to make a call.

 AT&T 2231 2.4 GHz DSS Cordless Phone with Dual Handsets The 2231 from AT&T is a 2.4 GHz phone that comes bundled with an extra handset and charging cradle. It also boasts several useful features, including caller ID/call waiting compatibility and an internal phone directory. The 2331 delivers clear, easily intelligible reception with less interference, thanks to transmitting on the 2.4 GHz band and employing frequency-hopping digital spread spectrum technology.
With its 50-number caller ID memory, you can see a list of all recent calls, while a 50-number phone directory helps you to keep track of all important phone numbers. A display-and-dial feature lets you scroll through the caller ID or phone directory lists and dial the displayed number simply by pressing talk. Customer Review: Agree about the buttons…
This phone has been good for me for several years, and it is certainly less ugly than most phones seem to be these days, but the buttons have started to go on mine, and I am about to ditch it for something better. Either they are totally impossible to press or they press twice, making it extremely difficult to dial or even answer this phone. Really, it’s an unacceptable situation, and AT&T should be ashamed about this.

This phone is the worst I ever had no screen on one hand set the other the battery failed and now the neither of the handset will sync to the base wish I could give a 0 shame on ATT for putting their name on this P.O.S.
Customer Review: LCD Screen faulty after 1 year
The phone works fine, except that the LCD panel for the Caller ID is no longer readable after 1 year. AT&T says to just buy a new phone, which is a shame because the rest of the phone works fine.

Customer Review: Reasonable phone for a reasonable price
I’ve had this phone for almost 2 years. Works fine anywhere in my apartment, but part of that is probably good selection of the base location. Sound quality is excellent, battery life good. I get no interference from any one else or from other equipment, and I have at least 3 wireless networks in range of this phone. Even better, the phone doesn’t interfere with them! A little funky to program and set up, but okay. Features that would be great to have: battery backed clock; easy access to ringer volume control. I wrote this review because I saw a lot of people slagging this phone and it didn’t seem balanced because its worked okay for me.
Customer Review: Nice features….Flawed engineering
This phone comes in several flavors, silver and gold (1460) trim.
My experience is with the 1460. I had all the same problems that were already mentioned. The phone comes with many nice features, but the basic operation is inferior. Range issues with going through just one wall at 10 feet, constant background static, and your own voice is played back too loud and with static, through the ear piece. A similar problem low cost Uniden 2.4G experience. Note, this is not a true 2.4Gig phone, only the base transmits at 2.4GHz, the handset transmits at 900 MHz according to the owner’s manual. I returned it and got a Motorola 362 in the same price range. Fewer features, but works well and good sound quality.

Customer Review: Good voice quality. Terrible Keypad
After about 1 year of having used these units I can say that the voice quality is very good. The display on one of the units has gone bad. I can’t recognize the characters on it anymore as a lot of pixels are not displayed.
The keypad on one of the units is pretty bad. Sometimes when I press the keys they don’t work at all. Then when I press the key hard, the key gets registered twice. This is very unpredictable and annoying when you are trying to dial a number or entering digits for an automated voice response system.
Customer Review: Don’t buy this AT&T phone
As other reviewers have reported, the keypads on these phones start malfunctioning 6-12 months after purchase. The keys become sluggish - almost non-responsive - and then if you push really hard, the number gets entered twice since the key then bounces. Terrible phone. Stay away from this turkey.

Customer Review: Poor sound quality in answering machine…
I love all the features that come with this phone so I hate to give it up. But it has always had muffled sound quality in the answering machine messages that are left by incoming callers. It has gradually gotten worse. It’s impossible to understand what people are saying if you try to call in and pick up your calls from another location. I am hoping that by changing the battery this may improve. I have had this phone for 3 yrs.
Customer Review: Lousy Range
Other reviews fairly reflected my feelings about the system. My complaint is the range from the base set to the handset. I live in a fairly large townhome. My baseset is at the front of the first floor and one of the handsets is at the rear of the second floor. The distance is only 80′ plus 12′ up. The handset can not communicate at that range. This is a normal house with regard to heating ducts, electrical wiring, etc.
AT&T cusomter service was great when I first brought this to their attention and even sent me a new base unit. I also tried different handsets, all to no avail.
